Maine economic development agency quietly unveils new logo

The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development has a new logo, which it slipped into the program for the 2013 Base Redevelopment Forum, which began today in Portland.

Doug Ray, the DECD’s communications director, confirmed for me on Wednesday morning that it was a new logo, but that the department hadn’t made any big announcement about it. Before I could ask more questions, Ray had to go. He didn’t respond to a follow-up question about who designed the logo or whether we’d be seeing more of it.

Here it is. What do you think?
